Odessa, Ukraine - May 23, 2006 - DobrySoft has released an important update to its Mac OS X backup software. Version 1.5 of Dobry Backuper, its easy-to-use backup solution for individuals and small home and corporate networks, features important performance improvements for CD/DVD backups.
Version 1.5 includes the following improvements and fixes:
- Dramatically reduced cache size for CD/DVD backups
Now when backing up a large amount of data to a set of CDs or DVDs, the amount of free hard drive space required by the program equals to the size of one CD or DVD, respectively. Previous versions required as much free space as the total size of the data to be backed up.
- More detailed logging for CD/DVD backups
Now the log for CD/DVD backups displays additional messages, allowing the user to monitor the backup process with more detail
- Burning failure message box
A message box is now displayed if the burn to CDs or DVDs was unsuccessful. In the previous versions of the program this notification appeared in the log only.
- Added ability to re-burn to another media immediately if the burn to CD or DVD was unsuccessful.
- Improved handling of filenames with service symbols
Fixed problems with handling filenames with symbols '[', '\', '*' and '?'.
